The founder

Led by Tammy Brazel.

Every Luxxe Interiors project is led personally by Tammy β€” from the first sketch to the final styling. One point of view, carried all the way through, is why the homes feel collected rather than decorated.

That point of view is recognisable: sculptural natural stone, custom-designed furniture, precise joinery, warm neutral layers and light built into the architecture. The result changes with each client, but the hand behind it does not.

The interior designer Gold Coast homeowners bring in before the builder

Last updated

Luxxe Interiors is a Gold Coast interior design studio led by Tammy Brazel. The studio has designed whole homes across the coast's waterfront suburbs since 2019. The work is high end residential. It includes full renovations, new builds, penthouses, kitchens, bathrooms and cinema rooms. Every design is resolved in 3D before a builder prices it. You then walk through the home in virtual reality. You commit to a home you have already seen.

The full story

A boutique studio for serious residential work

Tammy Brazel holds a Bachelor's Degree in Design. She specialised in residential interior design for eight years before founding Luxxe Interiors in 2019. She grew up in Runaway Bay, which matters more than it sounds. She has spent her life around the canal homes, beach houses and towers this studio now designs. She knows how Gold Coast light, salt air and open plan living behave once the furniture arrives.

The studio stays deliberately boutique. You brief the principal designer. The person who drew your concept also stands beside your builder. That direct care sets Luxxe Interiors apart from a volume firm that treats design as a line item. Searching for a luxury interior designer on the Gold Coast? Ask any studio one question: who exactly will do my design work? Here, you already know the answer.

Luxxe Interiors has a defined design language

Luxxe Interiors' work is recognisable without making every home look the same. The design language is sculptural, bespoke and warm. Natural stone is bold. Furniture is made for the room. Joinery is exact, while soft neutral layers add warmth. Light is part of the architecture. It is a point of view, not a style template.

  • Monolithic and bookmatched stone used as architecture, not surface decoration.
  • Diamond-shaped marble kitchen benches and islands designed as room-scale sculpture.
  • Custom-designed furniture, including curved pieces drawn for a particular room or view.
  • Bespoke joinery that hides storage and carries one material language through the home.
  • Layered architectural and statement lighting that changes how stone, timber and plaster read after dark.

Those ideas can appear in a waterfront home, a modern French house or a Category A listed Palladian house. The form changes with the building. The Luxxe Interiors hand stays clear.

What we design

Most clients come to us for full home interior design: every room, every finish, one coherent direction. Within that, the studio runs several specialties.

  • Kitchen, bathroom and laundry design, the rooms that decide whether a house works day to day.
  • Home cinema and bar design for houses built around entertaining.
  • Home renovations, from reworked floor plans to complete interior rebuilds.
  • Collaboration on new builds, working alongside your architect and builder from the earliest plans.
  • Decoration: furniture, lighting, art and styling for interiors that are structurally finished.
  • Custom furniture designed for the scale, circulation and architecture of the room.
  • Drafting and documentation your builder can price and build from.
  • 3D renders and virtual reality walkthroughs of your design before you commit to it.

If you lean towards a coastal classic look, we also design Hamptons style interiors. They suit waterfront Gold Coast homes unusually well.

Landmark residences and international work

The landmark portfolio begins with Sovereign Islands I. This multi-level home has a floating stone stair, diamond-bookmatched marble, built-in light and sculptural custom furniture. It sits within four Luxxe Interiors residences on the Sovereign Islands. The group includes homes of more than 4,000 square metres and properties valued above $20 million.

Internationally, Luxxe Interiors delivered the interiors of Duddingston Guest House in Edinburgh. Duddingston House is a Category A listed Palladian house. Sir William Chambers designed it in 1760, and it was built from 1763 to 1768. The work is notable for both its heritage setting and its new neoclassical interior.

The wider record includes Casa Laguna, Villa Oceana, the Aria Penthouse and the Carrara new build published as The Ashbourne House, where AmazingArchitecture credits Luxxe Interiors with the interiors alongside architects Jared Poole Design and Kenins Group. Interstate work includes a Brisbane renovation and a project in Mackay. It also includes a Lindfield build and a Blakehurst home. See the complete interior design portfolio, including the other published Sovereign Islands residences.

The interstate projects run on the same system as the local ones. Fully resolved 3D design, VR walkthroughs, complete documentation, and site visits when the project calls for them. If your home is up north, start with our interior designer in Brisbane page. For Lindfield, Blakehurst or anywhere else in Sydney, see our interior design in Sydney page.

Where we work on the Gold Coast

Our home ground is the corridor that runs from Sovereign Islands and Sanctuary Cove down to Mermaid Beach. These are not interchangeable postcodes. A Sovereign Islands waterfront home carries wide water views and hard western sun. The design has to manage glare and heat without giving up the outlook. Sanctuary Cove brings its own approvals process. Canal homes in Broadbeach Waters and Paradise Waters live outdoors for half the year. That makes the line between inside and out the most important join in the house. Mermaid Beach trades water frontage for beachside blocks that are often tighter. That puts real pressure on storage and floor plans.

Salt air is the other constant. Finishes, hardware and window treatments that hold up two streets from the ocean are a specific body of knowledge. We specify for it.

How a project runs

Every project starts with a consultation, at your home or on site if the house does not exist yet.

Concept and spatial planning come first: floor plan logic, direction room by room, the big material calls. Then the design is built in 3D. You review renders of your actual rooms, then put on a headset and walk through them at full scale. Clients change real decisions at this stage: a kitchen island shifted, a ceiling detail dropped. They can finally see the space instead of imagining it from a floor plan. It is far cheaper to move a wall in VR than after the slab is poured.

Once you approve the design, we produce the drafting and documentation your builder prices from. We stay involved through construction and finish with decoration and styling. A whole home usually spends a few months in design before anyone builds. A single kitchen or bathroom moves faster. We would rather give you an honest programme at the consultation than a tidy number here.

How fees work

Australians are spending serious money on their homes. The Australian Bureau of Statistics recorded $1.32 billion of home alterations and additions approved in June 2026 (ABS Building Approvals, June 2026). The latest Houzz & Home Australia study found that 94 per cent of home renovators hired experts. Kitchens had the highest median spend at $30,000. At that level, the design fee is not the main risk. Building the wrong thing is.

We quote a fixed design fee scoped to your project after the first consultation. It is staged across the phases above, so the full design cost is known before you commit. Client reviews are on hipages if you want to hear how past projects landed.

Frequently asked questions

How much does an interior designer cost on the Gold Coast?

There is no useful single number, because scope drives everything. A decoration project and a whole home new build are different engagements. What we can promise is a fixed fee, quoted after the first consultation. The design cost is settled before any drawing starts.

Is it worth hiring an interior designer for a renovation?

For a small cosmetic refresh, possibly not. For anything structural, design work tends to pay for itself in avoided mistakes. Joinery that does not fit, finishes ordered twice, a layout you regret by the second week of living in it. There is a reason 94 per cent of renovating Australians bring in professionals. A resolved, documented design is what keeps a build on budget.

What is the difference between an interior designer and a decorator?

A decorator works with what a room already is: furniture, fabric, lighting, art. A designer changes what the room is, through layout, joinery, materials and documentation a builder can construct from. Luxxe Interiors does both, and on most projects the two run together.

How long does full home interior design take?

Months rather than weeks. Concept, 3D and VR review, and documentation each take real time. Rushing design to save a fortnight is how projects lose months on site. We map the programme against your builder's dates at the consultation.

Do you only work on the Gold Coast?

No. The studio is based here and that will not change. The delivery model travels, though: 3D renders, VR walkthroughs and drafting packages work anywhere, with site visits as the project requires. We have completed homes in Brisbane, Sydney and Mackay. We take on Melbourne projects and Perth projects on the same basis.

Can we see the design before we commit to building?

Yes, in more detail than most people expect. Every major space is modelled in 3D. You walk the design in virtual reality at full scale: down your hallway, into your kitchen, out to the terrace. It is the closest thing to standing in the finished house. Clients sign off with confidence rather than crossed fingers.

Planning a renovation, a new build or a full redesign anywhere from Sovereign Islands to Mermaid Beach? Book a consultation with an interior designer Gold Coast raised, at the studio or in your own home. Bring whatever plans you have, even if that is one photo and an idea.

Our point of view

A home should feel collected,
never decorated.

Beauty lives in the relationship between things: old and new, polished and raw, architecture and the people who inhabit it.
